If you keep writing, I’ll definitely keep reading. When you speak about suffering you speak out of such a genuine depth of experience, I know that you know whereof you speak and that makes me pay attention. It’s like when Joni Eareckson Tada speaks – I listen. I relate to your struggle with physical and mental pain. I also relate to your love of the Word, commentaries and Greek – and the desire to have the Word have the final say on our present sufferings, rather than the experiences themselves. If you’d just give up your Calvinism, you’d be perfect (just kidding!

Jeff – I’m currently camping out on Ps. 139 and I have to agree with Him that I am “fearfully and wonderfully made” whether I currently see it or not. I also take comfort in Is. 65:17, that one great day these things that are so troubling and (seemingly) impossible now won’t even come to mind (“the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind”). I pray He’ll give you increased strength to face your giants when they come around. Eric

I can’t imagine why so many people were accessing a personal Wiki that just has a few categories pertaining to Scripture and theology. It didn’t have much content and I haven’t updated it in years. A few years ago I found that it was getting spammed (I didn’t know any better) and turned off the ability to modify or post anything. I thought 50GB was huge too without music, large photos or videos etc. not to mention relative lack of popularity.

I was thinking 50Gb is Massive. I run one of the largest sites in Australia for my industry, with 800+ used motorcycles on it and thousands of hits an hour, and we use 100Gb ish….

Yeah I just remembered I set one up 3 months ago and found the offender! It’s an old Wiki I had set up a long time ago. It must be trying to get spammed even though people can’t post to it. I’m using Evernote now so removing the Wiki should do it. Thanks for the reminder to look into it. Very pleased about that. My blog isn’t so popular after all.

Do you have a stats tool in your webhosting control panel with whoever you use? Mine I can see the webpages\files that use the most bandwidth, and where it is going etc, all on one page. If you do, and can’t see it, screenshot and send it to me if you want, I m ight be able to see. (this is what I do in for a living ironically…)

Thanks Drewe. I was thinking before I switch that maybe I should check to see if something weird is going on. I’m not sure how to go about that other than just looking at stats. I can’t imagine somebody is constantly downloading things.

Jeff – I use hostgator – the are usually very good, though occasionally my site is very slow – though as soon as I question it it goes fast again (it’s about 2-3 times a year at a guess). That may be part of the shared hosting function – but the deals aren’t too bad there.

50Gb transfer though is pretty huge! I guess I don’t know your hits, but you might want to look and see what the bulk of that is?

Paul says in Romans that not all of Israel are the true Israel. I think that John the Baptist and James have the echo’s of the prophetic books, like the minor prophets are.

Micah 6:8 is my fav OT verse. Sharing with those in need when you have the needs is showing them true mercy.

I believe a rod was also used sometimes to mark the flock. Each one would pass by and the Shepard would mark them with a particular dye. Shepard’s would often gather together in a valley and this was a help. This would relate to verses that speak of separating the sheep from the goats, to marking the doorways with the blood, to many other Scriptures. We pass under His rod and are marked by the blood that flows from the Rod.

I must admit, I wasn’t even thinking of that last part. I’m not an overseer but should be careful about extreme things being here for those who might not know. I’ll leave it at that. This was the first, and hopefully only time I’ve banned anyone. I’ve put extreme comments in the trash, mostly first timers, but they don’t come back.
