I’ve been considering this while saving gift certificates, waiting for the next generation for more even light, but I still can’t decide if I want this or a tablet. My super old Nokia tablet, made before tablets were popular, is aging.

Have an old Kindle “keyboard” (no backlight), loved it, started downloading books to my smartphone, haven’t picked up the Kindle in six months. Full access to nearly 200 titles purchased in the last 2 years, from my phone, no wifi access needed. Downside? I have to charge my phone every day. Old Kindle went a month of daily reading or more between charges. Remember, no backlighting, less drain. And it is harder to read my phone outdoors than a Kindle.

Interestingly, I was just last night investigating using an older smart phone as a tablet. I would really like a 5″ screen. That’s one inch larger than my Nokia, but small enough to put in my pocket, and I could have a Bible app and have all kinds of stuff on it. And then I realized just what you said–having to charge it everyday, which I have to do now with my Nokia as it dies, and as my wife has to do with her phone. It’s frustrating to get interrupted when reading to have to charge the device. The Nokia won’t work while plugged in anymore, otherwise I wouldn’t mind. I also like to have a dark, but not black screen with light gray text. Can’t do that with a Kindle, but then the text must look great. But then so does my Nokia. I don’t know…

Do you still like your phone? What phone is it?
    Jeff
