But… I don’t.
No soup for you!
There are several reasons I recommend this version. I not only recommend it, I teach from it, memorize it and have just about every edition available.
1. It is the most “comfortable” reading translation available. It simply reads like we speak.
2. I love the way the translation will boldly depart from traditional renderings for the sake of accuracy and clarity. John 3:16 is the best example.
3. The formatting in the translation is superb, they way Old Testament quotes in the New Testament and poetry are handled.
4. I like the use of Yahweh in the current edition and am really excited about increased use in the upcoming 2nd edition.
5. In the same vein, the use of “Messiah” in the New Testament instead of “Christ” knowing that this is a title not a name.
6. Also, using “slave” instead of “bond-slave” or “bond-servant”.
Just a few points, certainly not a comprehensive list by any means, but a few things that stick in my mind.

Esteban I’d be glad to read your thoughts on the HCSB sometime if you care to write about it. I understand if not. There are more important things to write about.
