I’m looking for Christian related documentaries that are pro-Christian and not the PBS/Discovery Channel stuff that denies God created stuff. Things like archeology, culture, Dead Sea Scrolls, anything about the Bible etc.

Thanks for asking the question. I watched a few of the videos from the Day of Discovery and was quite impressed. It was good to see a great selection of NT scholars like Klyne Snodgrass, Michael Wilkins, Craig Evans and Darrell Bock. I look forward to watching more.
Netflix has some good ones. You can subscribe for as low as $9.95 per month. I just watched the Bio on Dietrich Bonhoeffer (might have been a PBS one, don’t recall). It was pretty good.
I have several, “Living God Today” books with free access from: http://www.scribd.com
Also, “The Very First Hebrew Manual without ‘Fake’ Vowel Points.”
“Apocalypse” is about Miracles in 1992 and 1997 and 2004 and 2006 and 2010.

some are controversial, some are not. But all are educational. Parents please watch with your children and explain any errors that are made on behalf of the filmmaker. Always make sure that the views being expressed are inline with scripture, if not then explain and use scripture liberally (remember 2 Timothy 3:16 (New American Standard Bible)
16(A)All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;) please read all of that in the context of the passage. THANKS
Speaking of crummy links–the first one could lead people to other spurious links and doesn’t have much to offer. The second one may be OK but it’s Nova after all and the third one is one video on God in different religions. Maybe educational, but certainly not what I was looking for. Most other people provided some good links.

“He was going to come and give his version of what goes on in the church but unfortunately he got arrested.” Woops.
Sorry, that was callous. He could be innocent.
This is typical stuff. You never see someone with no gold dust before, or no gold teeth before, but you see them afterward. So it just makes it look all the worse.
Jeff
Sorry, that’s what I assumed because it says, “Series exploring the coming New World Order from a Biblical perspective.” And the guy in the video said the same thing. Thanks again.

From another web site:
‘The word “Lucifer” is used in the King James Version only once, in Isaiah 14:12: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” The Hebrew word translated “Lucifer” is helel (or heylel), from the root, hâlâl, meaning “to shine” or “to bear light.” Keil and Delitzsch noted that “[i]t derives its name in other ancient languages also from its striking brilliancy, and is here called ben-shachar (son of the dawn)… (1982, 7:311). However, the KJV translators did not translate helel as Lucifer because of something inherent in the Hebrew term itself. Instead, they borrowed the name from Jerome’s translation of the Bible (A.D. 383-405) known as the Latin Vulgate. Jerome, likely believing that the term was describing the planet Venus, employed the Latin term “Lucifer” (“light-bearing”) to designate “the morning star” (Venus). Only later did the suggestion originate that Isaiah 14:12ff. was speaking of the devil. Eventually, the name Lucifer came to be synonymous with Satan. But is Satan “Lucifer”?
No, he is not.’

Jeff, you might like to check this one out, it’s about Jericho.

They also have another on Jesus’ tomb, but I never got around to it.
I liked the one on Jericho, and it also confirmed what I read for one of my classes in 2.year in Theology about Israel and evidences for OT.
Thank you. That looks very interesting.
Day of Discovery has what you’re looking for.
Nice

Wow I hadn’t noticed those names yet. Snodgrass is my favorite (name).

I can’t afford any more monthly payments but I bet there are some good choices for that one.
I read the biography/prison letters by Bonhoeffer. That was really depressing.

The Millennium was AD 1859-1959.
The Wriiters onlie are:
The Peoples’ New Testament, 1891, B.W. Johnson; Restoration Movement; and:
The Millennial Harbinger, 1830-70; Alexander Campbell.
These men predicted future prophecy fulfillment until the End of Time.
Sid’s 777 Blog wordpress.com (that is me).
I have observed prophecies fulfilled in 1960, 1992, 1997, 2004, and 2006.
“Jesus lives! — today! — on earth!”
Sid, You’re about nine centuries short of a millennium. Looks like you got hold of some bad theology.
Stan:
You have just proved yourself a fool nationally, and possibly internationally.
70 Weeks = 490 years; 455 BC – AD 35.
7 Years (Eze 39) = 21 Years; 539-18 BC.
7 Months = 7 Years; AD 28-35.
42 Months = 1260 Years; AD 600-1860.
5 Months = 150 Years; AD 532-682.
There’s some guys called Enoch Magazine that make Christian documentaries Totally FREE and on point Biblically.

Ya, how is http://www.christiandocumentaries.com a bad link to the question: are there any good christian documentaries out there?
Carter, when I said ‘the first link’ I was referring to the comment directly about that one. The one you mention is good.
Jeff
Carter, I think you may have been responding to John directly, not me. Sorry. Just being narcissistic.
Jeff
Oh, I totally was…sorry, I probably should have made that clear.
Finger Of God
This is the YouTube link. I Love this movie!
Just as a qualifier to that type of thing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDDGl79x4Pc This is an extremely good documentary.
I’m not into the New World Order but thanks for the suggestion.
Jeff
It’s mostly about history not the new world order, I recommend you watch the first 10 episodes before making your mind up.
Sorry, that’s what I assumed because it says, “Series exploring the coming New World Order from a Biblical perspective.” And the guy in the video said the same thing. Thanks again.
Jeff
They got Lucifer wrong right off the bat but it looks like there could be a lot of history in there as you say (along with World War 3).
