Tim Tebow Sports Hebrews 12:1-2 On Eye Black

It’s nice to know that in the sports world there are more verses in the Bible than just John 3:16 and Philippians 4:13. Yesterday Tim Tebow put the reference for Hebrews 12:1-2 on his eye black.

Hebrews 12:1-2 HCSB
Therefore since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.

I saw highlights of the game and it could be clearly seen.

The most popular college football player has started a trend in sporting a different verse or passage for each game. I think this is a great way to get the word out. See ‘Tim Tebow’s selected Bible verses’ slide show down the page a bit.

I hope this will help more people take a look at the Bible.

I will miss watching Tim Tebow on Saturdays.

  2. 2 Scripture Zealot

Hopefully we’ll see him on Sundays soon enough. Are you closer to Jacksonville or Miami?

  3. 3 Stan McCullars

Jacksonville. Closer still to Tampa who is fighting for the number one pick!

  4. 4 Steve Tellers

Tebow is a third or fourth round selection. To pick him with a first round pick would be very foolish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. 5 Scripture Zealot

Abraham’s descendants will be more numerous than Steve’s exclamation marks.

Tim Tebow is a real role model. He has inspired me as an adult and my children, ages 21 & 18 love him. We always looked to see what his eye black strips read…if we didn’t know we looked it up. It is a way to get people to open the Bible. God Bless him.

I’m betting Timmy is not a fan of Matthew 6:5

  8. 8 Scripture Zealot

That’s a low blow and pretty bad misuse of Scripture.

    Karl, Don’t be a pig.

I’m not posting any more negative comments on Tebow. They are coming in and they’re unfair and ugly.

On another note, the ‘Tebow haters’ are supremely ugly. I’m not saying the neg comments are in this category but I’ve seen it on the web and it’s very sad that people would do this to anybody.
