In cosmic brush strokes of glowing hydrogen gas, this beautiful skyscape unfolds across the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy and the center of the northern constellation Cygnus the Swan.
I have the Astronomy Picture of the Day in my RSS reader. The photos are amazing. I often forget how large the universe really is, not that we can comprehend it. I like the description of this picture. I often see photos or flowers or other things in nature that look like God’s brush strokes.
I’m always amazed at how many stars are in these pictures. Click on the photo above to see a larger one and see a longer description. This doesn’t work in Firefox for me. I need to use Internet Explorer.
Genesis 15:5
Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”

Yeah, the universe is freaking big. Sometimes I imagine how insignificant the whole earth is compared to so many other things. There is no way in a human life time that one person can explore our entire plant, and yet there is no way in a human life time that one person could even traverse our entire galaxy, let alone make any stops.
My friends and I often joke about how tough we are or how tough Mr. T is or some other nonsense, and yet one blast of radiation from any number or stars would be the end of us.
All God has to do is let go.
