Good ones…here are mine at the moment….

1. Increased faith in God and what he can do.
2. Grow in the gift of prophecy – word of knowledge.
3. To study more on how to preach Christ from the OT.

4. Let God show me if I am wrong in any of these, and always have his will for me as priority nr 1.

Nice goals. A few of mine are:

1) Regain proficiency in Hebrew
2) Learn German (for research, not conversation, though I wouldn’t mind being able to converse)
3) Read through a large section of the Hebrew Bible (Genesis, Psalms, Isaiah)
4) Become more acquainted with the church fathers

Three goals? Well let’s see.

1. I too desire to be able to read my Greek NT easily — am working on that and have come a long way in the last few years.

2. Would enjoy learning the basics+ of Hebrew as well. That may need to wait a bit.

3. Edit the Exposition of Romans and of Hebrews that I have written.

WOW! I need to be much younger — oh well, I’ll just keep plugging.

Wow Kevin. I can’t see myself going past beginning Greek although I want to learn that much very thoroughly using three books. I want to get back to memorizing Scripture someday.

I like the book of Jude. I like it when people see the importance of those little books. I like the other ones you mention too in addition to Colossians and the rest of the Bible of course.

I have quite similar goals to the ones you gave.

I want to do some in-depth studying on Genesis, particularly chapters 1-11.

I want to learn Greek well enough that I can read through the New Testament, the LXX, and early christian writings with ease and with very minimal need to consult a lexicon. (This goal is still some years away)

I want to study Jude extremely thoroughly (which I have been doing for some months now. Then after that, in-depth studies on James and Hebrews and Peter’s epistles.

And then a long-term goal, learn to read german, french and swedish to such an extent that I can read theological papers written in those languages.

I mean I might be dyslexic.

If I were to do a Bible study on Colossians I’d run it by others first for sure.

These are excellent goals. Learning Greek beyond an elementary knowledge is also a personal goal, and hopefully I will be able to accomplish that in school.

If you write a Bible study on Colossians I will be more than happy to use it as well, if you are willing to share.
