Edit: As of now, 9/18/09, the sale price is no longer 71% off.
Christianbook.com has the TNIV True Identity: The Bible for Women, hardcover on sale for $9.99 plus shipping. Since the TNIV is planned to be discontinued (or updated and renamed to NIV) in 2011, they may be letting go of some of them at big discounts. The page linked to has a description, reviews and samples. Be sure the see the samples–it looks like it has blue text, which I don’t like but a lot of people do since they change their text from black to blue in message board posts.

I hope other retailers got the memo. We’ll see.
My wife uses this Bible. While it is single column and TNIV, it does has some positives.
The women-specific content is ridiculous in the extreme, and makes this a Bible that my wife wouldn’t recommend to another woman.
For $10 though, it would be worth the price to have a copy of the TNIV. Be warned that the text is in blue, and not black.
TC, CBD is where I got my TNIV for about 70% off also. That was quite a while ago. Did they know back then?
Nathan, Yeah I mentioned the blue in my post. Strange.
On the list of features it sounded like it had some good stuff and many reviewers like it.
I don’t know anything about it, just thought I’d pass the info along.
Thanks for the comment on it and the warnings. I would think the study BIble would be better but this is a great price. You don’t like single column or TNIV?
Jeff
Jeff, the TNIV has never really been a big seller. Was it during a sale?
Nathan, I’ve never look through one, but I believe you.
TC, you mean the one I bought? I wrote a post on it but this edition is long gone and there is no link at CBD for it anymore. My guess is CBD had them at a deep discount because they were discontinuing them. It’s a thinline. Let me know if you meant otherwise.
Jeff
Jeff, yeah, the copy you bought. I guess CBD knew something, esp. from how they referred to the TNIV in their catalog as “NIV, Revised.” Wow!
Wow is right.
I bought mine over a year ago. It’s imitation leather and is light blue, beige and tan. It’s ugly (to me) and more appealing to women but I got to like it when I read a Psalm a day in it. It may have been just a matter of them phasing out strange colored ones that didn’t sell.
I can’t find my post on it. I may have deleted it since the Bible isn’t on CBD’s site anymore. However I found it at Zondervan’s site.

2/3 down the page under Text Bibles it’s the top right one with the Ocean Blue/Cream/Tan cover. I got it for $7.
