Last week I mentioned that I would be having a radio frequency nerve ablation in the sacroiliac joint area. I will be having the procedure done on the other side tomorrow. If you could pray that would be great.
The one I had last Monday hurt a lot the rest of the day and then for the next two days it just felt sore, nothing worse than sore muscles from lifting weights in addition to the “normal” pain I already have.
The doctor said it may take 4-6 weeks for the ablation to take effect and I’ve read that there’s a 50% that there will be some relief. It’s hard to wait and wonder.

Waiting is always the hard part – even more so when pain is involved. Praying for you and your back now.
We will keep you in our prayers, Jeff.
Praying…
Jeff, we’ll lift you up at our worship service today. Praying for you, man.
Jeff, just stumbled upon your blog this morning, but will definately be praying for you to get some relief from the pain.
Thank you Anthony. I’m glad you stopped by and commented.
If any of you are reading–my back is really bad today. It’s on the side the ablation was done last week. They said there may be a 2-4 week recovery. I thought I was free and clear other than some worsening pain since Friday but things have gotten way worse and I’m hoping this is part of the recovery and not something new. And I hope they’ll be willing to do the other side tomorrow if I’m still in this much pain.
My mood is terrible. Any little thing bothers me. The comments on TC’s blog about complementarianism = evil drive me absolutely nuts. I unsubscribed from that thread. I just can’t handle anything right now.
I really appreciate your prayers. Sorry for the whining. I try to limit it.
Jeff
Still reading, still here, and still praying
Same here Jeff . . .
Praying, my friend.
Me too, Jeff. I’m here for you.
Thank you very much. I will write a report tonight.
Jeff
The procedure went well. There was a little less pain on this side during it than on the one last week. That may mean that the other side is more problematic. But afterwards my rear is hurting really bad.
I’ve learned that the spasm-like pain I’ve had starting over the weekend is a normal part of the recovery for some people. For some it’s a breeze. Not me! The nerves fight back and cause pain as they heal from the procedure. So knowing that it takes out some of the concern and makes it more worth it if it were to cause some relief later on. No guarantee on that though.
Looks like I have some extra pain to look forward to for a while and I really appreciate your prayers. I’m more concerned about my mood and “mental” stuff than the actual pain right now. But I should be fine.
Jeff
