@Robert - I could be wrong, but I haven't seen a NLT that has a sewn binding yet... I really hope they address this in the next year or two.

Hey Jeff, do you know if the binding is glued or stitched? I own a personal edition, and the bible and font are a great size. But I would like something that is stitched, instead of glued.

Yes, I have a TNIV thinline as well and have come to tolerate it - I was in fact trying to find the NLT version that was most like it (which would be the regular size Reference Slimline), but the inside gutter, text ghosting and font size were three strikes...

I came to almost exactly the same conclusions ElShaddai except I seem to be able to tolerate the bleed through.

I think many people with older eyes would appreciate the font size of many of these large print editions.

My fave as far as size and typeface is the TNIV thinline. But that has an almost sans-serif font which I love and for some reason most others don't. (I can't understand why people like serif for reading.)
Jeff

Thanks for posting those photos, Jeff. I was looking at those exact editions on Monday after work and came to the conclusion that I preferred the physical size of the regular Reference Thinline, but that the font size and the inner gutter were too small. I liked the font size of the Large-Print Reference Thinline, but the physical size was a little big for being a thinline and the text ghosting/bleedthrough was really distracting -- especially for a *reading* Bible. I'd love to have the regular size Ref edition with a little thicker paper and slightly larger font size. Even the LP Ref would be okay, if it had a little more heft to it and cut down on the ghosting.

nothingman thanks for asking. I wanted to look into it. Yes, according to their PDF of the changes, this edition is the 2007 version. Although I noticed they have a little mistake for the first Genesis example on the 2007 side which scared me a little bit. I'm OK now.
Jeff

Hmmm. Wonder if I qualify for a trade in. My copy is essentially unusable unless I just stick to the outer columns.

I read somewhere that they had corrected that. The edition I purchased was fine.

Rick, the text is very close to the inside margin but not enough to bother me. Maybe I'm used to it because of my pew NRSV or maybe they've changed it.
Jeff
That's the edition I bought last year, but was very disappointed with because the text ran too close to the inner margin. I had to push against the seam to read the text on the inner columns. Has this been corrected?

I purchased one of those (different color scheme) for a friend of ours. She loves it. Very nice to hold and the print is comfortable for reading.
