No problem. I’m after the truth. And open to many points of views. I’ll check it out what you suggested with open heart. We are all brothers in Christ. And we should keep Looking out for each other. Thanks again for the time you took to respond. I’m new to hermenuetics so every info and point of views, people like yourself have to offer. It’s helpful. I also respect the humble way you respond. I’m sure G-D is using you tremendously.
Keep me in prayer as my Journey towards understanding scripture more, and my way to know Jesus our lord and savior. G-D bless You Jeff

Piper is not exactly an expert on Bible translation as much as I like him. If you can read what D.A. Carson has written about the TNIV that might be helpful. NKJV has many weaknesses too.

I meant I not a fan of either translations. Too many missing scriptures. I have the NKJ, Greens Strongs hold Hebrew/Greek interlinear bible, A Reader’s Hebrew and Greek Lexicon and suprise also the NIV!!! It’s frustrating when verses are completely taken out. And the meaning of some words are watered down. I’ll quote John Piper ” I Just Want All The Words”
@Stan McCullars it’s Christians like yourself that kept me away from G-D for 26 years of my life. Remarks like that are not edifying in no such way. It’s condencending and not humble. If I’m confused or don’t understant something,there is better ways of going and speaking to a fellow believer. But it’s ok. Jesus still loves you.

This is not a favorite change but the TNIV does a lot of unique renderings. Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. (Acts 2:31) Hades, hell, and grave are sometimes now rendered realm of the dead. I once read an article why this was a better translation in relation to Gk., but for the life of me I can’t remember where I read it.

I like John 1:18 where it changed God the One and Only in the NIV to the one and only Son, who is himself God in the TNIV.

Hmm, I guess I haven’t done any comparisons of the TNIV to the NIV. I completely switched and never looked back I guess. I think it may simply be that I am more interested in the various traditions than the changes within them.
