It is unnerving. This one didn't "crack" open which always makes me feel like something broke. I wonder how much of that has to do with the paper itself, and how much has to do with the way it's glued. I always hate to see any glued book falling apart, but there seems to be very little strain on this binding. “Yes, I can confirm that the bindings of the NLTSBs are all glued. It’s a strong binding and should last for many years, as long as it’s not mistreated. That said, I do know of at least one person who plans to have his rebound with a sewn binding and high-end leather cover.”
