Hi Lu. I believe the last three passages mentioned address the salvation part.

Wrath would be only towards those who reject Him.

Knowing what we are saved from increases our appreciation of being included in the elect and receiving His grace and forgiveness.

Although we are to be "God fearing" I completely agree that we are to have no fear of punishment regarding judgment when we are saved as John 4:15-18 states.

I believe we accept the gospel but receive Him. He accepts us, not the other way around.

I like your explanation of the gospel and salvation.

Maybe my post wasn't very clear in what I was trying to say.

Are we missing something here? Jesus' sacrifice for our sins is the ONLY sufficiency for our salvation. And when our acceptance of Him occurs (the free will portion - for God is a Gentleman and will force no body), His transformation of us begins, it appears to be binary in some (on/off -- before/after) and more gradual in others (Mother Teresa's moments of doubt in a private journal even as the world acknowledged her as a living Saint) -- and Jesus' sacrifice and our acceptance of Him will dictate our future, I believe, and not where we are/were on the path to Him when called home ... and when the Holy Spirit reproves us, telling us we are going down the wrong path, AND we confess/repent then we are freed once again to reorient on the Lord and resume our journey towards Him (on earth as well as heaven) WITHOUT FEAR! For He now has us in His Hand (as He has since we were first saved by making Him Lord) and no power (including the power of our own feeble human sinful natures) can take us from His Hand.
 Am I biblically wrong?
